Telangana sizzles as 17 districts cross 46℃; highest of 46.5℃ in Nirmal

Telangana continued to reel under severe heat conditions on Wednesday (May 20, 2026) with temperatures intensifying across the State as 17 districts recorded maximum temperatures above 46℃, according to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS).

46℃ and above

Dilawarpur in Nirmal was the hottest location in the State recording a maximum temperature of 46.5℃ . This was followed by 46.4℃ in Dharmasagar (Hanumakonda), Choppadandi (Karimnagar), Odela (Peddapalli); 46.3℃ in Endapalli (Jagtial), Jangaon (Jangaon), Penuballi (Khammam), Asifabad (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad), Kotapally (Mancherial) and Balkonda (Nizamabad); 46.2℃ in Jainad (Adilabad), Pinapaka (Bhadradri Kothagudem), Thorrur (Mahabubabad), Koheda (Siddipet) and Mellachervu (Suryapet); 46.1℃ in Eturunagaram (Mulugu) and Konaraopeta (Rajanna Sircilla) and 46℃ in Kattangoor (Nalgonda)

Nallabelly (Warangal). Mogullapally in Jayashankar Bhupalpally recorded a maximum temperature of 45.8℃.

Below 45℃

The districts which recorded temperatures below 45℃ are 44.8℃ in Bibipet (Kamareddy), Pochampalle (Yadadri Bhuvangiri), 43.3℃ in Havelighanpur (Medak), 43.1℃ in Nagalgidda (Sangareddy), 42.4℃ in Saidabad (Hyderabad), Uppal (Medchal Malkajgiri), Ibrahimpatnam (Rangareddy), 42.2℃ in Mahabubnagar (Mahabubnagar), 41.9℃ in Lingal (Nagarkurnool), 41.5℃ in Alampur (Jogulamba Gadwal), 41.4℃ in Gundmal (Narayanpet), 41.2℃ in Yalal (Vikarabad) and 40.5℃ in Chinnambavi (Wanaparthy).
