The Women Safety Wing of Telangana Police on Friday (February 6, 2026) launched ‘Women-Led Mobility Livelihoods Pilot – Hyderabad’, aimed at enhancing women’s economic empowerment while improving safe commute through greater participation of women drivers in public mobility services.

As part of the initiative, the Women Safety Wing entered into non-financial memoranda of understanding with Srinivasa Group of Companies, Bijliride Private Limited and Zippintella Private Limited. The partnerships establish a collaborative framework for training, employment linkages and livelihood facilitation for women drivers in the city.

The programme is designed to equip interested and eligible women — particularly those from vulnerable communities — with driving skills for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers. Participants will be linked to employment or self-employment opportunities in the mobility sector, enabling them to earn sustainable livelihoods while contributing to safer urban transport.

By increasing the presence of women drivers in public transport and shared mobility services, the initiative also seeks to enhance the sense of safety and confidence among women commuters.
