The Telangana High Court directed authorities not to take any coercive steps against the Dargah Hazrath Syed Tajuddin Khaja Bagh Sawar located within the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple premises at Vemulawada in Rajanna Sircilla district, according to a press release .

The directions came after a writ petition was filed by one Mohammad Nazima, represented by Zeeshan Adnan Mahmood, who challenged the alleged illegal fencing and obstruction by officials. The Petitioner’s counsel contended that the Dargah, standing for over 800 years as a symbol of communal harmony alongside the famous Vemulawada temple, was threatened with relocation by officials, an act that struck at the very soul of the region’s composite cultural heritage, the press release stated. The counsel argued that the mutawalli did not have the authority to consent to relocation.

Recording undertakings from the State, District Collector, temple authorities and police, the court restrained any relocation, demolition or alteration of the shrine.
