The number of nominations filed for the 4,332 Sarpanch posts — which would go to polls under second phase of Telangana Gram Panchayat Elections 2025 — has reached 12,479 and 30,040 were received for 38,342 wards, till end of Monday (December 1) — the second day of receiving nominations. Tuesday is the last day, when the numbers could surge. The second phase of the polls would be held on December 14.

Meanwhile, District Election Authorities and officers concerned were involved in the poll-related activity. General Observer of the polls in Vikarabad, Shaik Yasmeen Basha, inspected nomination receiving centres in Nawabpet and Ekmamidi on Tuesday. She also enquired about the number of calls received by the Control Room at the District Collectorate.

Mahbubnagar Collector Viziendira Boyi held a meeting with representatives of political parties at the district Collectorate and asked them to ensure the polls are held in a peaceful and transparent manner. The doubts raised and suggestions offered would be considered. The Collector informed them that if a nomination was rejected by the Returning Officer, an appeal can be filed with the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) — whose decision will be final.

Gadwal District Collector B.M. Santosh held a training programme for Returning Officers of Phase-II polling. He said polling on the date of elections would be held from 7.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and counting of votes would begin at 2.00 p.m. on the same day.
