Telangana Government on Friday announced Indiramma Family Life Insurance scheme that will benefit 1.15 crore families in the State with an insurance coverage of ₹5 lakh each.

The Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in his 2026-27 budget speech pn Friday (March 20, 2026) announced the launch of the insurance scheme.

“Irrespective of social divisions, without discrimination between poor, middle class, or rich, we are newly introducing the ‘Indiramma Family Life Insurance Scheme’ from June 2, 2026, to provide life insurance of ₹5 lakh to each of the 1 crore 15 lakh families in the State,” Mr. Bhatti announced.

If the earning member of a family passes away suddenly, besides the mental agony suffered by that family, the financial disaster they face adds to the trauma. A single such incident can bring a family onto the streets. It is the resolve of our Government that no child of Telangana should have to live with such fear and insecurity, he said.

This Government ensures security to every family in the State, he added.
