TDP Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy has demanded a probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the controversial murder case of Ch. Srinivasulu alias Rayudu, driver of the now-suspended Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Vinutha Kota. The murder case reported two months ago rocked the Srikalahasti Assembly constituency .

The MLA was reacting to a selfie video purportedly released by Rayudu.

Rayudu’s body was found in the Cooum river in Chennai in July and the Chennai police arrested Vinutha Kota, her husband Chandrababu and three associates in connection with the case.

The Chennai Police Commissioner had told the media that the accused allegedly conspired to murder Rayudu, who allegedly kept his mobile phone in Ms. Vinutha’s bedroom and leaked her personal information to the political rivals.

A ‘selfie video’ of Rayudu surfaced recently, the authenticity of which is yet to be verified. In the video, Rayudu had purportedly confessed that Mr. Sudheer Reddy had paid him money to keep him posted about the JSP leader’s activities.

Ms. Vinutha, who is on a conditional bail, released a selfie video, announcing that she would bring the truth to light soon.

In this backdrop, Mr. Sudheer Reddy, who was in New Delhi on Monday, expressed suspicion over Rayudu’s ‘selfie video’, saying that it could have been generated by using computer graphics or AI tools.

Rubbishing Ms. Vinutha’s allegations as ‘baseless’, he said the JSP leader had never cooperated with him during the elections.

“Though I remained quiet to respect the sanctity of the NDA, Ms. Vinutha is making mala fide allegations. I demand SIT probe into the murder case,” he said.
