Tamil Nadu government appoints 34 Ministers in-charge of all 38 districts

The Tamil Nadu government, on Wednesday (June 3, 2026), issued an order listing 34 Cabinet Ministers as in-charge of all 38 districts in the State.

Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources N. Anand is assigned Villupuram and Cuddalore districts, while Minister for Public Works and Sports Development Aadhav Arjuna has been given charge of Chennai and Tiruvannamalai districts.

Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare K.G. Arunraj has been appointed for Tiruppur district, and Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management K.A. Sengottaiyan for Erode district.

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies P. Venkataramanan is assigned Mayiladuthurai district, while Minister for Energy Resources and Law R. Nirmalkumar is given charge of Madurai and Theni districts.

Minister for School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity Rajmohan has been appointed for Perambalur district, while Minister for Natural Resources T.K. Prabhu has been assigned to Sivaganga district.

Minister for Industries S. Keerthana is given charge of Krishnagiri district, Minister for Higher Education P. Viswanathan for Tiruvarur district, Minister for Tourism S. Rajesh Kumar for Kanniyakumari district, Minister for Minorities Welfare A.M. Shahjahan for Nagapattinam district, and Minister for Social Justice Vanni Arasu for Kallakurichi district.

Minister for Transport A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban has been assigned Salem district, while Minister for Housing and Urban Development B. Rajkumar has been given charge of Dharmapuri and Ariyalur districts.

Minister for Backward Classes Welfare V. Sampath Kumar is appointed for Coimbatore district, Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi M. Vijay Balaji for Vellore district, Minister for Prohibition and Excise K. Vignesh for Dindigul district, Minister for Non-Resident Tamils Welfare K. Thennarasu for Kancheepuram district, Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development J. Mohamed Farvas for Pudukottai district, and Minister for Co-operation V. Gandhiraj for Ranipet district.

Minister for Social Welfare and Women Empowerment K. Jegadeshwari has been assigned Virudhunagar district, while Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Vinoth is given charge of Thanjavur district. Minister for Milk and Dairy Development C. Vijayalakshmi has been appointed for Karur district, Minister for Human Resources Management D. Sarathkumar for Chengalpattu district.

Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Ramesh has been designated for Tiruchi district, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises P. Mathan Raja for Ramanathapuram district, Minister for Finance, Planning and Development N. Marie Wilson for Tirunelveli district, Minister for Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Srinath for Thoothukudi district, and Minister for Animal Husbandry S. Kamali for The Nilgiris district.

Minister for Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology and Digital Services R. Kumar is assigned Tiruvallur district, while Minister for Forests R.V. Ranjithkumar has been given charge of Tirupattur district, Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration D. Logesh Tamilselvan for Namakkal district, and Minister for Environment and Climate Change Rajeev for Tenkasi district.

The order said the Ministers designated for the respective districts would coordinate with District Collectors, Monitoring Officers, and district-level officials to expedite ongoing projects, ensure the delivery of welfare schemes, and carry out relief work during disasters.
