Polling was brisk across constituencies in Mayiladuthurai and Nagapattinam districts on Thursday (April 23, 2026), with queues forming early at several booths. Official sources said the turnout pace was higher than in recent elections.
In Mayiladuthurai district, 82.14% voter turnout was recorded. Of this, Sirkazhi (SC) recorded 82.44% polling while Mayiladuthurai constituency registered 79.67%. Poompuhar constituency recorded the highest turnout of 84.09%.
