A total of 30 Aadhar Seva Kendras (ASK) managed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will become operational in the State by September.
In the first phase UIDAI has consented to establish eight more ASKs by March, said Alby John Vargheese, Chief Executive Officer, Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA).
Speaking during the inaugural of an ASK centre at Anna Nagar East, said that the centre which was earlier operational, has now been shifted to a new building with enhanced infrastructure and accessible-friendly facilities, strengthening Aadhaar service delivery in Tamil Nadu.
A press release said that Srutanjay Narayanan, Joint CEO, TNeGA, Annie Joyce V., Deputy Director General UIDAI and Pawan Kumar Pahwa, Director UIDAI were present on the occasion.
The ASK offers Aadhaar enrolment, biometric and demographic updates, error correction, and grievance redressal under one roof, and operates all days except on public holidays. Tamil Nadu has 690 Aadhar centres that are operated by the State government and located inside district collectorates, taluk offices, and other government offices.
