Minister for Law C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar on Friday announced in the Assembly that the State Government would form a State Advisory Board to advise the State Government on preventing crimes against women and children and also eliminate the use of narcotic substances and expediting such cases.
He further announced the creation of Tamil Nadu Law Compilation Web Portal to facilitate public access to enactments, amendments to bills etc in Tamil Nadu.
Government Law colleges in Salem, Namakkal, Theni and Karaikudi will introduce new postgraduate LLM degrees from the 2026-27. He further said that Tamil Nadu Student Hostel and Accomodation Corporation (TNSHIC) In the Government Law Colleges at Vellore and Chengalpattu.
Furthermore, CCTV cameras will be installed in 12 Government Law Colleges: Chennai Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Pattarai Perumbudur, Pudukottai, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Koyambuthur, Tirunelveli, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Villupuram, Ramanathapuram and Dharmapuri.
He also announced an end-to-end examination automation system and an online valuation system to modernise the exam process at Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University.
