The Election Commission of India (EC) has appointed Pratap Singh as Special Observer in connection with work relating to the Tamil Nadu Assembly election.

Mr. Singh can be contacted on 044-28338378 and 7845321461 or through email at splobs.pelecd@tn.gov.in. Liaison Officer Jagan Mohan can be reached at 9551322999, an official release from Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik said.

“The public and political parties can contact the Special Observer regarding election-related matters by reaching out to the above contact details,” Ms. Patnaik said.

The surveillance and enforcement teams have been deployed across the State to monitor and curb illegal inducements, including cash, liquor, drugs, and other prohibited items. As of March 23, cash to the tune of ₹30.53 crore, liquor valued at ₹0.72 crore, drugs/narcotics valued at ₹6.47 crore, precious metals valued at ₹92.02 crore were seized, an official release said.
