Tamil Nadu Congress in-charge Girish Chodankar termed the BJP’s poll manifesto “fake” and said that it reminded people of the party’s past promise of depositing ₹15 lakh in each person’s bank account after the “black money” stashed in foreign accounts was brought back to the country.

Speaking at a party workers’ meeting in Udhagamandalam, Mr. Chodankar said that he was from Goa, where the BJP promised three free LPG cylinders to constituents in 2022. He said that despite the passing of four years, this promise remained unfulfilled, just like the promise of bringing back black money into India and distributing it to the people.
