The Souhardha Karnataka Organisation has urged the State government to suspend the proposed Basavadi Sharanara Hindu Conference, to be held in Shahapur on May 19.

Addressing a joint press conference in Yadgir on Saturday (May 2), the organisation’s office-bearers K. Neela, R.K. Hudgi, Meenakshi, and others said that a few people are planning to confine 12-century social reformer Basavanna in the frame of communalism with the aid of some mutt swamis under the banner of the Basavadi Sharanara Hindu Conference.
