Some unknown persons have been booked in connection with the suspected attempt to kidnap the son of the media advisor to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, near Mashobra, about 11 kilometres away from Shimla.
According to reports, the incident occurred late Friday (March 20) evening when Aryan Chauhan, who is also the general secretary of Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress, was going to Shimla from his hotel in Mashobra.
En route to Shimla, Mr. Chauhan tried to overtake an Alto car.
While doing so, the occupants of the Alto asked him to stop. When Mr. Chauhan brought his car to a halt, two masked men deboarded the Alto with a gun and a metal rod and started walking towards him.
Seeing them approaching, Mr. Chauhan exited his car and jumped onto the side of the mountainous road, and hurt himself in the process.
As Mr. Chauhan managed to escape, the masked men fled to the spot.
Mr. Chauhan then approached the police and filed a complaint, which was later turned into an FIR, police said.
The police, however, haven’t revealed under what sections the unknown persons have been booked.
