A 21-year-old student was found murdered at her residence in Tammenahalli within the Madanayakanahalli police station limits on Monday (November 24). The deceased has been identified as Devishri, a native of Andhra Pradesh who was pursuing BBA at a private college.
She was living alone in a rented house. The murder came to light when the house owner noticed no movement from the house and went to check, only to find Devishri lying dead on the bed with multiple injuries on her head and other parts of the body.
He alerted the police, who rushed to the scene and conducted a spot inspection. The investigation revealed that Devishri had a male friend who used to visit her frequently and it is suspected that he could have killed her.
The police have registered a case of murder and efforts are under way to track down the friend, who is said to be on the run.
