A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in a hotel room at Sattenapalli town in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district. The victim, a native of Vijayawada, was pursuing her intermediate.

The accused befriended the girl on a social media platform. He, along with his friends hired a four-wheeler from Hyderabad, and took the girl to the hotel at Sattenapalli, three days ago.

The victim, who managed to escape from the hotel room, lodged a complaint with the police. The girl’s family members too lodged a ‘girl missing’ case with the NTR Commissionerate police.

The police reportedly took the youth, who raped the girl, and three of his friends into custody. The girl would be sent for medical examination, the investigation officers told The Hindu on Sunday (December 21, 2025).
