As many as 90 odd north coastal Andhra Pradesh people including 10 Life Insurance Company (LIC) employees from Visakhapatnam are stranded in Nepal, which is under Army control, A.P. Bhavan (New Delhi) officials said on Wednesday (September 10, 2025).

Speaking to The Hindu, A.P. Bhavan liaison officer Suresh Babu Valavala said 10 LIC employees and their vehicle driver, who were touring Nepal from Visakhapatnam, are now stranded at Hotel Elegant in Pokhara town, Nepal. Their location is about 250 km from Kathmandu.

“They are safe in the hotel. The hotel where they were staying earlier was burnt down, and they have been shifted to another hotel. All their belongings have been burnt,” said Mr. Suresh Babu.

Speaking to The Hindu from the hotel where they were now staying in Nepal, one of the stranded persons, Ms. G. Surya Prabha, said, “We are safe now in the hotel, but helpless as our all belongings were burnt.” State IT Minister Nara Lokesh interacted with them through video call and assured all support from the government.
