The sting operations that earlier originated from the KPCC office have now been shifted to the Vidhana Soudha, BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra said in Hubballi on Sunday. He told reporters that the issue could lead to a massive political upheaval in the State in the coming days.

“There are some Congress leaders who are creating all these fake videos to implicate their political rivals, insult them publicly and remove them from positions of power, but these leaders have now shifted to the Vidhana Soudha and are continuing to run their conspiracies from the seat of power,” he said.

He was in Hubballi to campaign at the BVB College for party candidate S.V. Sankanur in the upcoming Legislative Council elections for the West Graduates Constituency.

Mr. Vijayendra said that he has received inside information that there is dissidence brewing against Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar among the Congress leaders.

“Some senior leaders are preparing actively to overthrow Mr. Shivakumar. Other leaders are already holding high-level meetings to orchestrate his unseating. It seems almost certain that Mr. Shivakumar will have to exit soon,” Mr. Vijayendra said.

Mr. Vijayendra said that the political fallout of these internal factions and secret parleys would become evident immediately after the Legislative Council elections.

Responding to allegations by some Congress leaders that the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) scam was a creation of the previous BJP government, Mr. Vijayendra challenged the Chief Minister to order a comprehensive inquiry into the matter to bring out the truth.

“During his recent visit to New Delhi, Mr. Shivakumar failed to achieve anything productive and instead brought embarrassment to himself and the State,” he said.

“Mr. Shivakumar is an inefficient administrator. He is driving Karnataka into a debt trap. It is failing to pay government employees or implement social welfare schemes properly,” he said.

“The Congress is funding organisations like the Cockroach Janta Party to create chaos and anarchy across the nation, thereby eroding public trust in Constitutional agencies,” he said.
