Stalin set to visit Sivaganga district

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is set to visit Sivaganga district on an official visit on January 30 and 31. During his visit, Mr. Stalin would unveil a memorial with a statue installed in Siravayal to commemorate the meeting of the late Mahatma Gandhi with late leader P. Jeeva.

The CM is also scheduled to take part in the centenary celebrations of Thavathiru Kundrakkudi Adigalar, an official release said. At Kazhanivasal in Karaikudi, Mr. Stalin would unveil a statue of ‘Veerukaviyarasar’ Mudiyarasanar.

On January 31, the CM is scheduled to inaugurate the Chettinadu Agricultural College at Kanadukathan established at ₹61.78 crore and the Law College established in Kazhanivasal established at ₹100.45 crore.

In a function to be organized in the Law College campus in Kazhanivasal, Mr. Stalin would also unveil the foundation for 28 new projects to be implemented at a cost of ₹13.36 crore and also inaugurate 49 projects completed at a total cost of ₹2,559.50 crore. The CM is also scheduled to launch welfare programmes at a total cost of ₹205 crore that were expected to benefit over 15,000 people, it said.

Before leaving for Sivaganga district, Mr. Stalin would pay floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Egmore museum campus in Chennai on the occasion of the Mahatma’s death anniversary on January 30. Ministers and other elected representatives and senior officials would also pay tributes.
