CHENNAI: DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended birthday greetings to Makkal Needhi Maiam leader and Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan on Friday.

In a social media post, Mr. Stalin hailed Mr. Haasan for having taken Tamil cinema to international standards. The actor, he said, was striving to retrieve the country from “destructive fascist forces”. He wished for Mr.Haasan’s long service in Parliament and in the cine world.

In another event, Advocate-General P.S. Raman called on the Chief Minister in the latter’s camp office in Chennai on Friday, on the occasion of his birthday.
