The State government has hiked the fee for making corrections in the name on SSLC certificates of applicants.

The fee has been hiked from the current ₹30 to ₹150.

Though the Commissioner of Government Examinations had been permitted in 2022 to make corrections in the names on applicants’ SSLC books on the basis of name change through gazette notification, the fee for it had not been specifically fixed. As in the case of other corrections, an amount of ₹30 was charged for this too.

The Assembly Subject Committee VI (Education) had recommended to the government that the fee be hiked from ₹30 to ₹150.

The Commissioner of Government Examinations too had reported that the fee of ₹30 was too little if the cost of the new certificate and the printing cost were taken into consideration. Accordingly, it was imperative that the fee be increased in proportion to the costs.

The government examined the matter and increased the fee from ₹30 to ₹150.
