Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday announced that the Sriramsagar Project-II (SRSP) will be named after former minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy in recognition of his immense contribution to the development of Nalgonda district. Speaking at the Ramreddy Damodar Reddy memorial programme held in Tungaturthi, the Chief Minister said a Government Order (GO) formalising the renaming would be issued within 24 hours.
The Chief Minister lauded the late leader, popularly known as “Damanna”, for his role in bringing Godavari water to Nalgonda district. “It is because of Damanna’s relentless efforts that the Godavari waters now flow in Nalgonda,” the Chief Minister said. He recalled that Damodar Reddy had strengthened the Congress party in Nalgonda and worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people of Tungaturthi constituency. “He was not just a leader, but a visionary who dedicated his life to public service,” Mr. Revanth Reddy said.
