Soldier goes missing during river crossing drill in Jammu

A soldier went missing on Monday (March 9, 2026) during a training exercise in Jammu’s Rajouri district.

A spokesman of the Army’s White Knight Corps said the soldier, identified as Sepoy Akshit Sharma, was reported missing at around 12 p.m. in the general area of Sundarbani, Rajouri, “during a river crossing drill”.

The Army said extensive search operations were underway with all available resources of the Indian Army and civil agencies being employed to locate the soldier.
