In a sensational murder case in which a software engineer was brutally killed by pouring petrol and setting him on fire, the first Additional District and Sessions Judge, Jagtial, Narayana, on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to six accused, including the wife of the deceased software engineer.

According to the prosecution, Racherla Pawan Kumar, 40, a software engineer from Hyderabad, was brutally murdered by his wife Krishnaveni, a native of Jagtial, and others at Balwanthapur in Mallial mandal of Jagtial district on November 28, 2020.

The gruesome murder was committed as per a pre-planned conspiracy over family disputes.

One of the accused died after the registration of the case.

The court found the six accused, including five women, guilty and pronounced life imprisonment along with a fine of ₹10,000 each.
