Snake-bite victim bites back, kills snake

In a bizarre incident on Thursday night in Chiyyavaram village of Thottambedu mandal, Tirupati district, a man bit off the head of a snake after it attacked him.

The man, identified as Venkatesh, was bitten by a black krait while under the influence of alcohol. In a fit of rage, he seized the snake by its head and bit it off, killing it instantly. He later carried the snake home and placed it on his bed before going to sleep.

By dawn, Venkatesh’s condition worsened, prompting his family to rush him to Srikalahasti Area Hospital, where he was given first aid. As the venom had already spread through his body, he was shifted to Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati.

Doctors said his condition remains critical.
