Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University (SKLTHU) on Tuesday (June 10, 2026) released a 48-page special bulletin on alternative crop management practices for horticultural crops for 2026-27, to help farmers cope with anticipated El Niño conditions and climate-related stresses.

The bulletin was unveiled by Vice-Chancellor D. Raji Reddy and Telangana Council of Higher Education chairman V. Balakista Reddy.

Mr. Balakista Reddy praised the university for providing timely scientific advisories and modern technologies to horticultural farmers and emphasised the need for skill development, entrepreneurship and industry-oriented education for students.

Mr. Raji Reddy noted that monsoon rainfall remains crucial for agricultural productivity in Telangana. Referring to IMD forecasts, he said El Niño conditions could lead to uneven rainfall distribution across the State. The bulletin provides contingency plans and crop management recommendations for vegetables, fruits, flowers, medicinal and aromatic plants, and plantation crops to enhance farmers’ resilience.
