Belagavi city which had become tense after a stone pelting incident during a procession as part of Urs, has returned to normality with quick intervention of the Police.

The stone pelting incident was reported on Friday (October 3, 2025) night at Khadak Galli in Belagavi.

The procession was taken out as part Mehaboob Subani Dargah. However trouble started after the procession changed its regular route and entered Khadak Galli and those in procession raised “I love Mohammed” slogan.

Some youths reportedly questioned the change of route and after a while stones were pelted towards the procession, according to sources.
