A three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Uttar Pradesh government to probe the alleged misappropriation of donation funds at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya went to the temple complex on Monday (June 15, 2026) as part of its probe. The team entered the temple complex through Gate No. 11 and said to have collected documents related to the case.

The State government on June 13 constituted the three-member SIT at the request of the Shree Ram Teerth Kshetra Trust to investigate allegations of missing donation fund of the temple.

The SIT is headed by Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, while Lucknow Range Inspector General (IG) of police Kiran. S and Neelratan Kumar, Special Secretary in the Finance Department are other members of the team.

The team is directed to submit a preliminary report within seven days and a final report within 15 days. The allegation came to light about a week ago, with public scrutiny intensifying, forcing the trust to request the government for a formal investigation, following which the State government ordered the SIT probe.
