The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL)’s rescue team proved its mettle again in the international sports arena by winning the first prize in the underground mines rescue category at the International Mines Rescue Competitions (IMRC) held recently in Zambia.

Chairman and Managing Director of the SCCL Buddhaprakash Jyoti lauded the SCCL’s rescue team for its stellar performance at the international event.

He congratulated the team for showcasing outstanding skill and professionalism, competing against rescue teams from several countries across the world.

From India, teams from the Coal India Limited, the SCCL, and other companies participated in the event, a press release said.

Notably, after nearly two decades, SCCL has once again delivered an exceptional performance at the international level, reaffirming its capability and strength in mine rescue operations, the release added.

The SCCL rescue team was trained under the leadership of General Manager (Rescue) Srinivas Reddy at the Ramagundam Mines Rescue Station in Peddapalli district.
