A day after the AAP wrote to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to remove MP Raghav Chadha as the party’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, Mr. Chadha said in a post on X, “Silenced, not defeated.”

In a video posted along with the text on X, he said, “Whenever I got a chance to speak in the Parliament, I have raised people’s issues.

Silenced, not defeated

Have I done any crime by raising people’s issues? I’m asking this question today because the AAP has written to the Rajya Sabha to not give chance for Raghav Chadha to talk in the Parliament.”

“The people who have today snatched my right to speak in the Parliament, I want to tell them also something, ‘Don’t consider my silence as my defeat’.”

In the video message in Hindi, hinting at a blowback to his removal, Mr. Chadha also said that he is that river, which when the moment comes, becomes a flood.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday (April 2, 2026) submitted a letter to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to appoint MP Ashok Mittal as deputy leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha, replacing MP Raghav Chadha. Although the party did not issue an official statement, the move comes amid a growing rift between the AAP leadership and Mr. Chadha, who until not so long ago was considered very close to party chief Arvind Kejriwal, over the past many months.
