The 359th Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, was celebrated across Telangana on Saturday (December 27, 2025) with religious fervour, as Sikh devotees and members of other faiths offered prayers at various gurudwaras.

The concluding event was organised under the aegis of the Prabhandak Committee at the Central Gurudwara Saheb, Gowliguda, where a large congregation gathered at the gurudwara to offer prayers to the Guru Granth Sahib.

Organising committee president S. Inder Singh said the congregation commenced at 10.30 a.m. and continued till 4.30 p.m., featuring recitation of religious hymns and sermons by renowned preachers invited from different parts of the country. Among those who performed were Bhai Satninder Singhji from Amritsar, Bhai Gurvinder Singhji from Rudrapur, Bhai Ravinder Singhji and other invited preachers.

The speakers highlighted the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh, stressing values such as courage, righteousness, national integration and communal harmony. They spoke about the Guru’s life as a symbol of sacrifice for human rights and his stand for justice, peace and the freedom to practise one’s faith.

After the conclusion of the congregation, Guru Ka Langar (or community kitchen) was organised, with devotees seated together in rows to partake in the community meal, reflecting the principles of equality and fraternity.
