K. Vanaja, Saritha Murali, and K. Sajitha

K. Vanaja, Saritha Murali, and K. Sajitha

Three women siblings from a family add a special charm to the 2025 local body election for the villagers of Perambra grama panchayat in Kozhikode district.

LDF candidates K. Vanaja, 56, Saritha Murali, 50 and K. Sajitha, 46 from Kizhakkayil house are now part of a vibrant campaign in their respective wards. For Vanaja and Sajitha, it is the first innings in their life though they have been part of various political campaigns since childhood. As Vanaja makes her debut from ward number 17 of the Perambra grama panchayat, Saritha, former member of Kayakkodi panchayat, gears up for her second electoral battle as block panchayat member from the Kaiveli division of the Kunnummal block panchayat. Sajitha, the youngest one, is contesting from ward number six of the Maniyur grama panchayat.

The trio say the happiest one in their family is now their 85-year-old mother, Omana. In Maniyur panchayat, two other siblings- N.K. Dipisha and N.K. Deepa are also in the fray as LDF candidates.
