Siberian huskies were found abandoned along the Shankarpally–Patancheru road near Bhanur village. At least eight were as of Tuesday (April 28, 2026). Rescuers estimated that over 30 dogs may have been abandoned in the area.

The incident came to light after Animal Shelter for Rescue Aid (AASRA) received a call from a local pet owner alarmed by the condition of the animals. “We received a call . that over 30 dogs had been abandoned in the area. The person who alerted us owns a golden retriever. He acted out of concern and compassion,” said Gowri Vandana, founder of AASRA.
