The Shivamogga police arrested a woman in connection with multiple theft cases and recovered gold jewellery worth over ₹18 lakh from her.
The accused, Ruksar Firdos, 30, a resident of Sulebailu in Shivamogga, was allegedly involved in four theft cases reported from marriage halls (shaadi mahals) in the city. She reportedly targeted wedding celebrations, posing as a guest to commit the crimes.
A team from Tunga Nagar Police Station, led by Inspector K.T. Gururaj and PSI Gadilingappa Gowda, investigated the theft cases and arrested her on Saturday. During the operation, the police recovered 120 grams of gold jewellery wanted in four theft cases.
Shivamogga SP B. Nikhil has appreciated the efforts of Tunga Nagar police in cracking the case.
