Senior citizens above the age of 85 and the physically challenged with 40% or more disability cast their votes through postal ballots on Sunday. The voters comprised 3,744 senior citizens and 2,283 differently abled persons.

As many as 823 senior citizens applied for postal ballots in In Tirunelveli, 622 in Ambasamudram, 621 in Palayamkottai, 854 in Nanguneri and 824 in Radhapuram. In the physically challenged category, it was 578 in Tirunelveli, 502 in Ambasamudram, 258 in Palayamkottai, 440 in Nanguneri and 505 in Radhapuram constituencies.
