A Semiconductor Capability Development Park and a Science and Technology Experience Park are proposed to be set up at Technocity, Thiruvananthapuram. The project, which will be developed on a 10-acre plot with an investment of ₹100 crore, will be implemented by Xtra G Club Private Limited in collaboration with Indian Institute Of Information Technology and Management, Keralam.

The project aims to integrate semiconductor skill development, science and technology experiences, innovative technology, research, entrepreneurship, industry collaboration and public engagement in a single ecosystem. It proposes a new learning model where technology is experienced, tested and created instead of just being studied or viewed as a display.

Special emphasis is given to semiconductor capability development. The system is envisioned to include semiconductor process demonstration facilities, electronics laboratories, chip-design learning environments, prototyping facilities, technology demonstration areas and industry-oriented programmes.
