The anti-terror operation deep inside the forest area of Budgam district entered its second day on Friday (September 4, 2026) as security forces searched for the terrorist group reportedly seen in the area, officials said. The anti-terror operation was launched on Thursday (September 3, 2026) following information about the movement of a suspected group of terrorists from Pakherpora in Pulwama district towards Yousmarg in Budgam district, officials said.
As the area of operation falls in the vicinity of Doodhpathri, authorities have asked tourists not to visit the tourist location until further orders, officials said.
Security forces carried out combing operations through the dense forest area in the Pir Panjal range, which connects to Poonch, Rajouri, Baramulla, Pulwama and Shopian districts.
Officials said they rushed additional forces to the area to help security forces strengthen the cordon and prevent the terrorists from escaping.
