Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) State president C.P.A. Latheef on Saturday termed the Directorate of Enforcement’s (ED) action of attaching the party’s property in Thiruvananthapuram as born out of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) political vendetta.

He said the ED would be taken on legally and politically. “This is part of the fascist government’s inimical steps to silence the country’s Opposition parties. Since it happened in the run-up to the local body elections for which the party has been actively preparing, this is an attempt to malign the party in public and hold it back,” he said.
