New Delhi:

Ektaa R Kapoor and Amar Butala are collaborating on a new horror-comedy, Hero Ki Horrorine, which will be directed by Sajid Khan. The makers are bringing together supernatural elements, comedy and romance for what is positioned as a theatrical entertainer.

While details about the story remain under wraps, Hero Ki Horrorine is expected to take a comic approach to the supernatural genre, combining horror with humour and romance.

Yashvardhan Ahuja and Nitanshi Goel lead the cast

Hero Ki Horrorine marks Yashvardhan Ahuja’s debut as a leading actor in Hindi cinema. He will be paired opposite Nitanshi Goel, who plays the female lead. The film also features Sunita Ahuja, Jamie Lever, Chunky Pandey, Brijendra Kala, Simrat Kaur Randhawa and other actors in key roles. The ensemble brings together established performers and younger talent, adding to the film’s mix of comedy and horror.

For Ahuja, the project marks an important entry into the Hindi film industry as he takes on his first leading role on the big screen.

Sajid Khan directs the horror-comedy

Sajid Khan is directing Hero Ki Horrorine, returning to the comedy space with a film that also incorporates supernatural elements. The director has previously helmed films including Heyy Babyy, Housefull and Housefull 2.

The upcoming film aims to bring together horror, romance and comedy while keeping the supernatural premise at the centre of its story. More details about the characters and plot are expected to emerge closer to the theatrical release.

Ektaa R Kapoor and Amar Butala collaborate

The project marks a collaboration between Ektaa R Kapoor and Amar Butala. Butala has previously produced films including Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kesari and Mission Majnu.

For Ektaa R Kapoor, Hero Ki Horrorine continues her association with the horror-comedy genre. Her production house recently backed Bhoot Bangla, another theatrical horror-comedy that brought supernatural elements and humour together.

Nitanshi Goel’s next film after Laapataa Ladies

Hero Ki Horrorine will also be an important project for Nitanshi Goel as she follows up on her widely noticed performance in Laapataa Ladies. The film marked her theatrical debut and earned her considerable attention for her portrayal of Phool Kumari.

With Hero Ki Horrorine, Goel will move into a different space as she takes on a horror-comedy alongside Ahuja. The film will also mark Yashvardhan Ahuja’s debut as a leading actor in Hindi cinema, making it a significant project for both young actors.

Hero Ki Horrorine release date

Hero Ki Horrorine is set to release exclusively in cinemas on January 7, 2027. The film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor and Amar Butala under Jai Ho Media Ventures and presented by Balaji Telefilms Ltd.
