The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has said that the ongoing debate related to the reported differences of opinion within the Congress over the United Democratic Front’s (UDF) Chief Ministerial nominee in Kerala is a “creation of the media”.

Addressing the media after a meeting of the party’s State functionaries here on Saturday, IUML national general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty said that if the UDF is voted to power, the Chief Minister would be decided by the Congress keeping in mind the “people’s sentiments”. He said that the IUML had no apprehensions about the ongoing discussions. “After the results are out, the Congress will hold its internal deliberations. Thereafter, they will share their perspective with us. The UDF will discuss their proposal and an appropriate decision will be taken,” he added.
