A Railway Protection Force staff saved the life of a 60-year-old man who fell off a train in Belagavi on Saturday.
Barama Kumbar of Basarate village had gone to the station to drop off his grandson Laxman.
The boy boarded the Mysuru-Ajmer Express and his grandfather also boarded the train to say goodbye.
But he could not get off it before the train started.
He came to the door to get off the train but fell into the gap between the train and the platform.
Head Constable of Railway Protection Force C.I. Koppad, who was standing nearby, saw the old man falling and rushed to his rescue.
Mr. Koppad pulled him from the gap and onto the platform to safety. The old man thanked the police constable.
