The roof of a shed caved in on the premises of Sri Surbramanyeswara Swamy temple at Mopidevi in Krishna district on Saturday night. However, no one was injured, according to the devotees. The incident occurred when a few devotees were in the shed where ‘Annaprasanams’ and ‘Aksharabyasams’ are performed.

Devotees expressed anger over the negligence of the temple management. According to the the locals, this was the second such incident which occurred at Mopidevi Subramanyeswara Swamy temple. In 2024, roof of the same shed collapsed, according to the devotees, who urged the Endowments Department officials to conduct an inquiry and take action against the negligent staff.
