Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy strongly condemned the detention of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other party leaders, describing the action as an assault on the democratic right to protest.

In a statement posted on social media, Mr. Revanth Reddy said the detention was an attempt to suppress democratic voices and expressed solidarity with Congress leaders and workers protesting against the Centre.

The Chief Minister said the entire Congress party stood firmly with the youth while asserting that the party would continue to support the democratic struggle for justice and accountability.

“You can throw us in jail, you can try to suppress us, but you cannot suppress the anger of millions of young Indians fighting for justice and accountability,” Mr. Reddy said.
