Residents of Shivamogga staged a protest on April 15 in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, alleging contaminated drinking water is being supplied in many localities of the city.

The protesters, who gathered under the banner of the Shivamogga Nagarikara Hitarakshana Vedikegala Okkuta, a federation of citizen welfare forums of Shivamogga, alleged that for the past few days, they were getting contaminated drinking water. It would impact their health, besides making them spend money on cleaning water tanks.
