Reduced rainfall in Maharashtra, Belagavi leads to lower discharge in the Krishna

Owing to reduced rainfall in parts of Maharashtra and Belagavi district, the inflow into the Krishna and its tributaries was reduced slightly on Monday. Most of the eight bridge-cum-barrages that were submerged in Belagavi district were opened for traffic.

The discharge from Maharashtra reservoirs was around 64,373 cusecs, around 8,385 cusecs lower than on Sunday.

The inflow into the Almatti dam was around 73,461 cusecs and the outflow was around 28,438 cusecs. The dam has around 97.2 tmcft as against the full level of 123 tmcft.

The Raja Lakhamagouda reservoir on the Ghataprabha in Hidkal had around 9,788 cusecs inflow and an outflow of 2,050 cusecs. The dam has around 27 tmcft of water as against the full capacity of 51 tmcft.

The Renuka Sagar dam on the Malaprabha had around 2,490 cusecs inflow and an outflow of 1,194 cusecs. The dam had around 11.5 tmcft of water as against the full capacity of 37 tmcft.
