Uttar Pradesh Congress Unit president Ajay Rai on Thursday (September 4, 2026) accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of protectingthe looters of donations and betraying the faith of crores of devotees of Sanatan Dharma.

“The appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the Ram Temple Trust has taken place, but the real question was about the loot of offerings and donations in the temple of Lord Ram. What happened to it? Modi government and the RSS saved the looters of donations by giving protection; they betrayed the faith of crores of devotees of this country, and it’s a betrayal of Sanatan Dharma,” Mr. Rai said to The Hindu.

Mr. Rai, added, “Modi Ji will have to answer. This is a betrayal of the faith of crores of devotees of the country, because in the trust in which Champat Rai Bansal, Anil Mishra and all others were included at the behest of the Prime Minister and top leadership, the appointment of the new CEO is an attempt to divert attention from the loot of offerings and donations.

“The temple of Lord Ram is a matter of faith related to religion, on which the BJP has been cooking its political bread and wants to do the same in the future, but we will not allow them to do it, we will fight for justice,” he said.
