Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan has said that the SNDP is ready to co-operate with the Nair Service Society (NSS).

“We feel it is not apt in today’s situation to remain at loggerheads with the NSS,” he told reporters here. “The SNDP Yogam would like to work jointly with the NSS,” he said.

Mr. Natesan said the SNDP Yogam leadership meet to be held on January 21 would discuss the way forward with the NSS and decide the future course of action.

He accused Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan of trying to be the voice of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). He was reacting to Mr. Satheesan’s speech at the ‘Kerala Yatra’ outreach programme organised by the Kerala Muslim Jamaat during which he made a veiled reference to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s car trip with Mr. Natesan at the Global Ayyappa Summit.

Mr. Satheesan had said “we must be cautious about who we let into our vehicles and not felicitate people speaking in communal undertones with ponnadas.” Mr. Natesan alleged that Mr. Satheesan was against the interests of the Ezhava community. He said it was time for the unity of people from the most marginalised sections to the Christian community.
