Rasmi Film Society and Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) will jointly express solidarity for the people of Palestine who are facing ‘genocidal attacks’ from Israel.

Poems will be recited and films will be screened at the Malappuram Press Club on October 11. Students will present poems on Palestine. Nisar Ahamed, head of the Department of Malayalam at Government College, Malappuram, and Malappuram Press Club office-bearers will speak.

“No Other Land”, a 2024 film directed by Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, and Rachel Szor, will be screened. A Palestine-Norway co-production, the film shows the destruction of a Palestinian community in the occupied West Bank, which had been resisting forced displacement after an Israeli firing zone was declared on their land.

Entry will be free for the public.
