Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday (April 4, 2026) described Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha, who was recently removed as the party’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, as “compromised.”

Mr. Mann made the remark in response to a direct question at a press conference, where he was asked whether he believed Mr. Chadha had been compromised.

On the removal of Mr. Chadha, the Chief Minister said its the decision of the party and such decisions are taken from time to time. “The parties keep changing their leader and deputy leader in Parliament. When I won the election for the first time, the party made Dr. (Dharamvira) Gandhi (the former AAP MP, who is now with the Congress) the leader. After some time, I also became the leader of the Parliamentary Board. This is a party decision. Such small decisions keep happening,” he said.

Taking a dig at Mr. Chadha, the Chief Minister said “Many times, in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, all opposition parties have to take decisions collectively, whether it is to walk out of the House or to oppose the policies of the government. If any individual does not support these collective decisions and goes against the party line, then it is against the party whip. If anyone goes against the party whip, action will be taken.”
