Telangana’s flagship cultural event ‘Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival’, which is in its 20th edition, will be held spread over three weekends this month, starting from November 14.

There is a whole range of work of stalwarts Mahesh Elkunchwar, Alakhananda, Sharmila Tagore, Anupam Kher, Mohan Agashe, Lilette Dubey, Baharul Islam and Swapon Mondal from various parts of the country, on the other end of this artistic spectrum, the young contemporary work of debutantes Junaid Khan (Aamir Khan’s son), Zahan Kapur (Shashi Kapur’s grandson), Anirudh Sarkar (Late Usha Ganguly’s protégé), Faizeh Jalali and others.

Mohammad Ali Baig, curator and designer of the festival, said that this year they are moving to the next generation, who will take this performing art ahead. “It is an ideal tribute to theatre legend Qadir Ali Baig, who envisioned Hyderabad as a theatre vibrant city back in the 1970s.”

The festival consists of plays, master classes and workshops. It will be held on November 14 at the State Art Gallery, November 15 and 16 at Shilparamam, and November 27 to 30 at Taramati Baradari.
